Going home to 3819 Calculus Drive!!!

Daddy, Mommy, Grandma Judy and Mee Maw brought me home to 3819 Calculus....it was a smooth ride. (I think Daddy might have been driving more carefully than he normally does, but it is just because he cares! wink wink) It was cold and kind of rainy. I took a small snooze on the way home.

They tell me we made a quick stop at CVS and Boston Market for lunch, but I don't remember much of that!

My first few days...

After a bath and MANY pokes, checks and pats, they brought me back to Dad and Mom in room 521. Dad had been with me almost the whole time I was in the new born nursery...but Mom had to go to the room. We all took a moment to get to know each other a bit more.

On Thanksgiving, I got to see Grandma Judy (Daddy's Mommy) as well as Mee Maw and Haw Jim (Mom's mommy and daddy). Aunt Christy and Uncle Clint came with my cool cousins, Bailey, Teagen and Kyton to see me. It was awesome to meet them all...

Others like Mary, Katy, and Lynda came to see us as well as many people kept Mom and Dad on the phone....Mommy had late night texting conversations with some of her other new mommy friends like Lara and Rala.

Hi! My name is Logan Daniel Shaffner. I was born at Presbyterian Dallas Hospital on Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 at 10:09 pm. I was 20 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 lbs and 9 oz. Here are a few pics of my arrival...insane time for sure!

Boot Camp Baby Shower for Baby Shaffner

Our good friends, Katie and Melaine, threw us a SUPER fun shower on Sunday, October 18th. It was so wonderful to spend time with people I don't get to see as much now that I can't move quite like I used to! Everything was great...the food (yummy green chili egg casserole! amazing french toast casserole! berrilicious berry salad! cheesy bread and OJ) the people (thank you to everyone who made the effort and we missed those that could not make it!) and the fun (we all have a lot to learn about the price of baby goods!)

Katie and Mel had VERY cute cake balls made that were mini Jana's with the belly bump. SO funny...they were great! They got them made at a special bakery called Creme de la Cookie. For you Dallas-ites...check it out by clicking on the words.


Baby Shaffner is that much closer to being completely set up for his/her arrival! Thanks for everything!

Week 32 Doctor appt

Well, we had yet another boring doctor's appt! (Thankfully!) Layton and I both learned lots at this appointment as they were training a new nurse...we learned how to find the heartbeat and how to tell the positioning of the baby. FYI, Baby Shaffner is head down (which is a good thing for those that don't know this.) Weight, blood pressure and all was great too!

One other cool thing...my belly measures 34 cm. You are supposed to be as big as you are weeks along...so my belly should measure 32 cm. Dr. Toofanian said, "well, it is a bit of a chubby baby!" We all laughed at this and yet we all know he speaks the truth!

We will go back in 2 weeks...and then we will start the once a week routine! Crazy...where is the time going?

Austin City Limits for a day!

Layton and I went to Austin for a music festival called Austin City Limits...we had a great time with Bratcher, Deanna, Scott, Eugene and Tony! Great day to spend with friends.

We also got to see Mike Mansfield, Layton's best bud from Cathedral High School. Not only did we see all of the wonderful friends...we also got to see Paul, Mike Splawn, and Russ Johnson for pizza on Saturday afternoon. It was like a mini fightin' Irish reunion! Leo would have been proud...

Baby Shaffner has a HOUSE!!
